The Nanticoke Smokestacks Came Down on Feb. 28, 2018
These smokestacks have been a landmark of the Oneida skyline for over 40 years, but on Feb. 28, 2018 at 11am, the smokestacks came down and ushered in a new-era as the old Coal-fired Hydro plant is being converted to a solar panel farm.
Over 100 people witnessed the event down at Camp Oneida, with many new-to-Oneida visitors coming to the Dining Hall for some coffee/tea, treats (from our own cook, Linda) and some warmth and use of our washrooms.
We are grateful for the volunteers who helped make this day a success, and a great outreach event. Thanks to everyone who came out!
